Book chapter on Nasty Old People, the first Swedish feature film to be distributed for free under a Creative Commons license through the peer-to-peer file-sharing service The Pirate Bay. This collaboration tried out new forms of distributed open innovation and new forms of participatory design. It tried out how collaboration across the knowledge domains of independent film production, the academic fields of media and communication studies and interaction design, media activists — or, according to some, media criminals: The Pirate Bay — and citizens could be carried out; fields that currently rarely engage in research together.
